In this classic children's book, a boy and a tree have a very special relationship. Day after day, he eats its apples, plays on its branches and rests under its shade. However, as he grows, he becomes more and more demanding in his requests, and the tree, even with few resources but full of love, continues to do everything he wants. Every day a boy goes to a tree to hang from its branches, eat its apples and rest under its shade. The boy loves the tree; and the tree, happily, loves him back. However, as time passes, the boy grows up and begins to desire more than just the company of his friend to play and rest. He begins to want money, a house, a wife... And the tree, without many resources to help him but willing to do anything to see him happy, gradually falls apart, showing that, for the love of the boy, it can give up its own life.
